Tarot forums are where us Tarot enthusiasts find out about the latest decks–be it mass market releases or self-published decks put out by the creators themselves.

Many of us have watched the Melissa Lenormand project come to fruition. I’ve been following the progression back when the artist, Melissa, started posting samples of her oracle cards on her blog and on the Aeclectic forum.

And, now 250 copies of the first edition of the Melissa Lenormand is finally available for pre-order!

Taken from her web site:

The Melissa Lenormand is an oracle deck based on the French Lenormand style cartomancy system. Created in 2009, and published in 2010 by Melissa’s (and her husband’s!) fledgling game/card publishing company Karmic Egg.

The first edition of this lovely deck is limited to 250 copies.

A Lenormand oracle contains 36 cards. The Melissa Lenormand also contains several alternative art cards, and several informative cards for a total of 45 cards. An instruction booklet is included in the fully printed tuck box.

I’ll be in attendance–not on October 23–but for the exhibit. It will be amazing to see these artists’ creations in person. I have written about Lisa Hunt’s Fairy Tale Tarot before, so this is a great opportunity to see some of her original artwork, which is part of the exhibit.

FAIRY TALE EXHIBIT OPENS IN BROOKLYN GALLERY

Fairy tales have a special place in our childhood memories. But did you know that these beloved stories were originally written for an adult audience? Fairy Tales: From The Dark Wood to Happily Ever After is an art exhibit which explores this surprising duality. It presents a wide variety of visual responses to fairy tales — from children’s book illustration to fine art; from fantasy to graphic novels. The exhibit opens Friday, October 23 at Kris Waldherr Art and Words gallery in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.

Tarot Deck: The Rabbit Tarot

Deck number 7. I’m officially collecting now, aren’t I?

The Rabbit Tarot got my attention when I discovered a free giveaway on the creator’s blog, Nakisha is Blue Dog Rose. Although I didn’t win, the whimsical bunny art in the deck caught my eye.  The images are RWS based and aside from it being unique deck sold from the artist directly, it looks like it will be fun to use as well.

To purchase the deck, visit the Etsy store.

There is also a great discussion on the Aeclectic Tarot forums about the deck; it seems to be garnering a lot of attention from quite a few people, which is terrific news for the artist.

There is also a cute video of the artwork that appears in the deck on YouTube:
