8-swords-reversed-rider-waite

Element: Air
Associations:
Thought processes; conflict

This is my first attempt at a reversals in Tarot. One can make the argument for or against reading reversals, but I see the value in reading reversals as they tell a slightly different story of the card than the one depicted in the upright meaning.

Swords the suit of Swords represents thought, action and how our mind deals with issues.

In this card, a woman is bound among eight upright sword in the ground. To her left are three swords; to her right are five swords. She is standing on puddle of water that flows directly in front of her. A castle or village on a hill is in the background. She is standing on puddle of water that flows directly in front of her. Water represents emotions and is a sub-element in this card. The woman is bound by her own will, not by someone else; she is simply afraid of what will happen next or has run away from a current situation.

Since this card was reversed, the meaning of this card has a positive spin on the situation. No longer bound by fear, you can be at ease and can grow from these experiences and difficulties.
