Shuffling the Deck of Life: Tarot Card of the Day – The Star
Tarot Card of the Day – July 16, 2009: The Star
Deck: Universal Waite Tarot

Technically, I initially drew the Death Tarot card. But, since I wasn’t paying attention and left a card out of the deck accidentally, I reshuffled.
The Star Tarot card is symbolic of new a new beginning. Now that I have some more background about the card than I did when I write my initial post about it, I can delve into some other observations about its meaning.
This Tarot card follows The Tower, and therefore trumps it. It is the first of the last set of Tarot cards in the Major Arcana that lead to the pentacle point of divine wisdom and truth.
The Star represents a moment of reflection after difficult times and is a metaphor for rebirth and a new beginning. The woman is pouring water to and from a stream and is also pouring it onto the grass, which is fertile with new flowers sprouting all over it. This is symbolic for the cleansing of her emotions and the sense of serenity. The stars are astrological references.
This card represents a moment of clarity and the start of prosperous new times both emotionally, physically and in actuality. It offers hope for the day.
